QA Chapter Lead - Pet

The Admiral Group is a multinational financial services provider, where technology is key to our success. We have an opportunity for a Chapter Lead - QA to define and execute the test plans to aid the launch of our new pet in-house product.

You will work within the Business Technology group reporting to our Head of IT – Pet and be responsible for defining our test strategy with a key focus on test automation, actively write test plans and scripts, undertake technical testing as well as co-ordinating UAT with the Pet business users. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Pet implementation at an early stage and be a key team member.

The Role

• We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious individual, who can think creatively to solve problems and meet user requirements. You must have a keen interest in testing and quality assurance, applying shift-left, test-first principles with hands on experience of automation testing, designing, and implementing testing automation frameworks.
• As we work within the Scaled Agile framework, we are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced and changing environment. This requires an individual who can deliver to agreed timelines, communicating effectively, and thinking innovatively.
• Experience of working in an integrated team, refining, and prioritising a backlog and delivering in an Agile methodology is a must.
• Willingness to perform hand-on testing as required

Responsibilities

• Defining tools and frameworks to develop and maintain test automation
• Identification of test automation opportunities
• Preparation of test scripts and the ability to execute the tests whilst the test team is being establishing
• Work closely with the chosen third-party supplier to define strategy and best practices
• Look for opportunities to “Shift left” testing and test automation
• Providing clear and accurate documentation for the tests and test automation
• Contributing towards the continuous improvement of testing and test automation practices
• Integrating automated tests with the CI/CD pipeline
• Sharing Best Practice and owning the testing process in all cadence ceremonies.
• Coordinating and monitoring UAT with business users, responsible for ensuring test signoffs prior to go-live
• Responsible for helping to define the release processes with the chosen third party supplier.
• You will also be expected to keep your skills up to date by following advancements in testing and test automation.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Experience using both internal and external delivery teams
• Experience using 3^rd party service providers
• Experience in building complex test automation framework
• Automated API/component integration testing with experience with Postman or similar tooling
• Strong experience in Selenium and BDD with Cucumber or similar framework
• Experience with non-functional testing with JMeter or similar
• Experience utilising browser stack and completing digital testing
• Experience of working in an agile environment and the role of QA in agile ceremonies
• Experience stubbing and creating automation for microservice architecture at distributed scale
• Working knowledge of JIRA
• Real passion for clean code, automation testing and continuous delivery

Desirable

• An enthusiastic mentor for team to adopt automation as a definition of done
• Leading test automation strategy and mentoring testers on the automation testing process
• Experience of software development
• Line management and mentorship experience required when team expands
