About Admiral Money

The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
The Role
This is a broad role which includes managing the pricing strategy, supporting product development, conducting financial analysis, optimising the components of the pricing model, exploring new data sources and much more.
The successful candidate will be able to quickly fit into a fast-moving, innovative, and high-profile environment, and will be required to hit the ground running; at least three years’ prior experience in a financial services environment is therefore a prerequisite. Candidates will be given responsibility to set direction and lead the way, whilst very much retaining a hands-on approach. Duties include:
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of rapid and robust pricing models and strategies
- Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to inform pricing decisions
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align pricing strategies with risk appetite and product proposition, including Sales, Product, Finance and Credit Risk
- Conduct A/B testing and other assessments to gauge the effectiveness of pricing strategies
- Monitor and report on pricing performance, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to pricing
- Explore bespoke pricing strategies for granular segments or channels
- Develop and maintain statistical models to optimise revenue and deepen customer relationships e.g. Lifetime Value/NPV models
- Explore new data sources and work with stakeholders across the business to make them available for pricing
- Work alongside our Data and BI colleagues to deliver best-in-class MI
- Represent Pricing in relevant forums and update key stakeholders on the team’s activities and performance
- Prioritising workloads to meet SLAs and deliver on department objectives
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a financial services or insurance environment is essential
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, financial modelling, and risk assessment
- Experience of writing board/committee papers and strategy documents
- Attention to detail, with an analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Positive outlook and able to demonstrate a positive influence on to the team
- A strong focus on quality, receptive to feedback and effective when giving feedback to others
- Be an effective influencer with all levels of staff, with excellent communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field
- Professional qualifications in Accounting and Finance or CFA certification
- Experience with the following would be advantageous:
- Second charge mortgages
- Model Building/Validation
- Open Banking/PSD2
- Consumer Duty
- Managing a team
