"Pricing Analyst

As the market continues to evolve and we continue to develop the way we work, we are looking for driven, skilled, and experienced Pricing Analysts to join us in our International Pricing Team.
Our International Pricing team is responsible for providing support and guidance to our businesses worldwide. Pricing Analysts will work together with our colleagues and teams in the UK and overseas, running pricing models and using statistical tools to understand and analyse the numbers and make proposals to improve the pricing structure in our operations. Our new emerging products and overseas operations have ambitious growth plans and sharing best practices, innovation, and using knowledge and experience in one country to improve our risk selection and processes in other countries and entities plays a key role to be successful.
This is a very exciting time to join International Pricing. Pricing Analysts can expect to have the opportunity to work closely with our Admiral Financial Services (AFSL) and Admiral Pioneer entities, along with collaborating with new and emerging products from our other Pricing teams (for example, Household or Motor).
Role Responsibilities
- Analysing our pricing structures and past performance to improve risk selection
- Assessing the usefulness of new data sources, both external and internal
- To support some of the more complex and detailed projects within Pricing
- Communicating results and ideas to key decision-makers across different group companies, including Heads of Department and regional CEO/COO
- Collaborating with peers in pricing and with stakeholders from all relevant areas of the business

About You
We are looking for a creative, innovative, and ambitious individuals, with approx. 1 year + experience in Pricing within any insurance, who have a track record of finding insight in data, can take ownership for driving forward change, and has a passion for sharing knowledge.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field
Essential Skills and Experience
- Approx. 1 year + in any insurance pricing role
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills supported by a solid academic and work background
- Proactive and creative approach to taking initiative and getting things done
- Willingness to learn from the bottom up and to acquire the necessary technical skills
- Team player with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- An interest in using data to understand the world around you, and the ability to communicate that understanding to a non-technical audience
- Personality and a sense of humour (we believe work should be fun!)
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience of working with programming packages like SAS and SQL is desirable but not essential

Reporting to
In this role, you will work closely with our whole Pricing leadership team and report to one of our Pricing Managers, with fantastic opportunity of being mentored and coached by them and our Senior Pricing Analysts.

Working Arrangements
Due to COVID, the whole Pricing team is working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home. We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, however, once it is safe to return to the office, we will have days when the whole team comes together to collaborate. However, whilst Pricing currently run from our Cardiff Headquarters, location and working arrangements are flexible, and we would be keen to hear from candidates from further afield.
