Mortgages Underwriter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mortgages Underwriter to join the team at Admiral Money.

About Admiral Money

Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral. 

The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.

We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.

What you will be doing

• Ensuring SLAs are met and where possible, exceeded for our intermediaries and customers
• Demonstrating an understanding of our Credit Policies, lending rules and appetite
• Bringing strong knowledge of the Second Charges Market and Specialist Lending Market
• As a mandate holder, interpreting the spirit of the FCA rulebook and demonstrating the desired outcomes
• Ensuring all information for customers and creditors is accurate, supporting good outcomes for AFSL and the consumer
• Communicating with external and internal customers to the highest standard
• Ensuring loans are underwritten within mandate and are of the highest quality

About you

• Preferably CEMAP qualified
• Previous experience in a regulated (preferably specialist) lending environment
• Able to work effectively towards targets and deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and confidence in making informed decisions
• Attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Thrives both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Please note: This is a hybrid role based in our Cardiff office a minimum of two days a week, with working hours between Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm.
