Purpose of role

Admiral have several partners that we work with, who combine to create our IT Asset Management (ITAM) Ecosystem. These include several large account resellers, technology vendors that provide SAM tooling and a small Admiral ITAM team (internal). This role is to work with the IT Asset Manager as part of our dedicated Asset Management team and must contribute to the smooth running of our Asset Management function by providing both administrative and analytical support. The ITAM team is also responsible for the management of Admirals IT hardware assets including sourcing, procurement, maintaining stock levels, reporting on technology refreshes, retirement and disposal.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Administration of the Service and Incident request pool which relates to Software or Hardware requests
  • Support the Service Desk with queries relating to software/hardware requests
  • Administrate the SAM and Inventory/Request tools (SNOW and Ivanti CMDB)
  • Responsible for the execution of the End User SACM process to track laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and software licenses through their lifecycle.  
  •  Support the IT Service Management Process from a SACM perspective.
  •  Initiate improvements in the tool, process, steering mechanisms, and people.
  • Communicate changes to the SACM processes.
  • Administer and maintain the technological environment of the CMS for software licensing, Asset Management and Configuration Management.
  • Update and maintain the Definitive Media Library.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement at an operational level. This ensures compliance to the process.
  • Provide administrative support to the SAM & HAM function such as Mailbox management and ad-hoc queries
  • Provide data and reporting internally to various business functions.
  • Undertake assignments relating to gathering and analysing Admirals contract, entitlement, renewals and discovery data.
  • Work closely with Group Procurement to support the renewal of Software/Hardware Agreements/support contracts.
  • Assist the Asset Manager in validating licensing requirements when contracts require renewal.
  • Raise purchase orders as and when necessary for Hardware/Software.
  • Monitor software usage against entitlement, highlighting over or under usage.
  • Identify areas for license re-harvesting and monitor progress.
  • Report on KPIs relating to Software/Hardware Asset Management.
  • Administer Licensing portals for software providers.
  • Update the approved ITAM Service catalogues as required.
  • Oversee lifecycle management for hardware and software assets including version control for software.
  • Maintain ITAM processes

Essential

  • Experience with managing a CMDB.
  • Relevant experience with IT Asset Management discipline both Software & Hardware
  • Relevant experience in a support functions within a medium to large size of organization.
  • Relevant experience working within an Asset Management department Managing hardware and Software Assets.

Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation
  • Desirable qualification in a technical discipline, demonstrating skills in the understanding, investigation, analysis and presentation of complex information.
  • Knowledge of basic licensing terms and conditions including maintenance and support contracts
  • Experience of using Snow or a similar Software Asset Management tool
  • Experience of working with an inventory and software installation tool such as Landesk
  • Experience of working within a busy IT Department
  • Solid understanding of EUC hardware technologies
  • Experience of software licensing portals
  • Experience of dealing with Large Account Resellers (LAR)
