"Job Purpose
The DnA tribe is responsible for creating and maintaining a cloud-based Data and Analytics platform for Admiral Group. The tribe works across a significant number of Admirals strategic initiatives including Pricing, Fraud, Customer Contact and Digital.
The tribe is made up of nine engineering squads that cover a wide range of disciplines including data warehousing, web development, API development and machine learning.
The DnA tribe started with a modest scope, but the solutions built have now formed the backbone of our data strategy. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Delivery that can help us on the journey as we roll out our solutions and transform the data and analytics capabilities of Admiral UK.
You will be driving forward our agile delivery, helping the tribe deliver value through facilitating Tribe events, escalating organizational impediments, managing risk and driving a culture of continuous improvement. The Head of Delivery also manages the Scrum Masters within the Squads and coaches them in agile ways of working and mind-sets.
As the Head of Delivery, you will be a part of the Tribe Leadership team and work alongside the Head of Product and Head of Technology to achieve the tribe OKRs. You will work with stakeholders at all levels across the organization ensuring the successful delivery and roll out of the DnA products and services.
Main Duties
- Accountable for delivering strategic business outcomes through the Tribe
- Develops and maintains processes and procedures that enable the tribe to deliver on its OKR’s at pace whilst providing appropriate governance and control.
- Identifies, tracks, removes, and escalates impediments at Tribe level to maintain flow of value
- Owns and manages risks, issues, and dependencies at Tribe level
- Coaches, guides and line manages the Scrum Masters whilst providing leadership and agile coaching across the tribe
- Leads the DnA tribe in an open, friendly and collaborative manner alongside the Head of Product and Head of Technology.
- Tracks and reports on Tribe’s progress on OKRs
- Supports Admiral’s Project Management Office with portfolio governance and management by reporting on Tribe’s activities and supporting preparation of key events like QBR
- Drive collaboration and continuous improvement mind-set within the Tribe
- Drive transparency and openness of communication in the Tribe
Knowledge and Skills required
- Demonstratable significant experience of successfully delivering complex projects, programmes, and organisational change in a large organisation
- Experience working in a modern software engineering environment with significant information security considerations
- Previous experience of Scaled Agile practices and ways of working, including the use of tools such as Jira, Confluence etc
- Strong stakeholder management skills with proven experience of working closely with c-level, business, and technology stakeholders
- Experience working with and managing third party relationships
- Strong leadership skills with experience of leading a large department with a matrix management structure
- Deep understanding of agile and lean methodologies
- Demonstrate clear understanding of benefits tracking, management and realization techniques
