Your Opportunity

Based in UK Finance in Cardiff and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of Admiral Financial Services Limited. The role offers an opportunity to lead the Financial control and reporting team of AFSL

The Role

The role will be responsible for the following:

• Provide leadership and coaching to members of the financial reporting team
• Responsible for the monthly financial reporting for the business under the IFRS standards, ensuring timely and accurate accounts are published
• Preparation and documentation of the IFRS 9 Impairments Provision for the business with updates to the model and methodology to reflect portfolio and market changes
• Ensure interest swap derivative arrangements are correctly reported under the IRFS 9 hedge accounting requirements
• Ensure adequate capital is held in AFSL, in line with Board requirements
• Refresh and update the annual going concern stress test models and papers
• Lead the relationship with the auditors, and ensure timely and accurate data provision
• Work with Admiral Group to produce the annual statutory accounts for AFSL and related entities
• Ownership of Financial Controls of the business, including updating and testing

Your Experience & Skills

• Self-motivator, pro-active in all aspects of the role.
• Qualified accountant with strong academic background
• Strong in tools such as Excel and other industry applications
• Financial Services experience, ideally in lending
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with and influence all types of people
• A good track record of leading teams
• The ability to leave your ego at the door
