DevOps Lead Engineer, Admiral Financial Services Ltd

You will be a technology professional with proven devops leadership experience across a range of cloud providers and services. You will work with your colleagues to own the maintenance, deployment, and troubleshooting of the platform along with driving innovation, defining standards and ensuring the integrity of all the systems that compose the AFSL cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Guide and coordinate the DevOps team activities
• Utilise your experience and knowledge to implement critical improvements where you see necessary
• Support the development teams with efficient pipelines and processes
• Oversee the on-call rota
• Provide input into the wider platform architecture and future direction
• Liaise and communicate effectively with other areas of the business
• Ensure monitoring and alerting standards and processes are applied as appropriate

Skills and experience:

Essential:

• Experience of managing cloud-based infrastructure
• Track record of working in a DevOps culture
• Experience of managing a DevOps team
• Worked with and implemented a broad range of AWS services
• Good knowledge of container orchestration solutions
• Experience of Agile / Scrum methodologies
• A proactive approach, a self-starter
• A focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders from all areas of the business
• Good understanding of IT security and GDPR
• Up to date knowledge of emerging technology trends
• Excellent knowledge of infrastructure as code
• Experience of working with a range of monitoring and alerting services

Desirable:

• Experience working in the financial services sector
• Previous exposure to Azure and GCP including Active Directory
• Excellent network knowledge e.g VPN, Transit Gateway
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools including Concourse and Drone
• Relevant cloud certification
