"We’re looking for a Data Protection Communications & Engagement Executive to join a new area within the Group Data Protection & Privacy department. You’ll be reporting directly to the Communications, Training and Development Lead with plenty of support in a collaborative working environment.
We’re looking for someone who is keen to take on the challenge of communicating regulatory updates to the business in an engaging and creative way. You will also help plan our annual awareness campaigns, internal team events and assist in the ongoing training and development of our staff.
This is an exciting time to join our experienced, supportive, and award-winning department (Best Place to Work in Data 2022) which is expanding to help Admiral Group Plc meet its data protection responsibilities in an increasingly data driven world. You will benefit from ongoing training, receive constant support from management and have ample opportunity to develop in your role and more widely.
Responsibilities
- Feed into the creation of our annual Communications strategy and ongoing Content Schedule and help deliver these using various tools and methods.
- Create engaging content such as articles, surveys and business-wide communications.
- Maintain the Data Protection & Privacy Communications intranet page.
- Research and make suggestions for new ways to engage with the business using alternative communication tools and methods available.
- Analyse feedback across our channels and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of our annual awareness campaigns and internal team events.
- Assist in producing engaging content to aid our team’s development e.g., team newsletters, training & development bulletins and other initiatives.
- Work in collaboration with our regulatory development area to inform the business of upcoming changes and developments on the horizon and what this means for them.
- Assist the Communications, Training & Development Lead in other ad-hoc tasks and initiatives to support the department’s ongoing communications, training and development programme.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience within a communication and/or engagement role, drafting communications for different audiences via different channels.
- The ability to write without jargon, grasp complex subject matters and break it down easily so that it’s understandable to staff.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across the organisation.
- Experience using Word, Outlook and Power Point and a willingness to learn other tools as part of the role.
- Great organisational and planning skills and use of initiative.
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads.
- Experience within a data protection, privacy, or compliance related role. This is desirable but not essential.

What areas do you look after?
I currently look after our Non-Motor departments.
Tell us about you and your Admiral story?
After graduating from university in 2021, I was very unsure on what I wanted to do so I almost fell into external recruitment. Within that time, I found a passion for recruitment but knew that internal recruitment would be much better suited for me. I have always loved the thought of working for Admiral so what better way to continue my career within recruitment for a fantastic company.
Why would you recommend Admiral?
There are so many reasons why I would recommend Admiral. Not only do they have great benefits such as the share scheme, but they are also continuously looking out for our wellbeing and encouraging everyone to develop a strong work-life balance. They are constantly helping and going above and beyond for everyone whether that be customers, colleagues or the community. Everyone is just so friendly and positive and it makes work fun and enjoyable.
