Data Engineer - Veygo

Veygo is one of these new businesses at the forefront of the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) revolution, providing transport solutions for customers with and without cars. We want to make life easier for those wishing to share cars, use their own temporarily, or for learner drivers looking to practice in a family member’s or friends’ car. In short, we want to help people be able to get behind the wheel of a car, even if they don’t own one.

Your responsibilities as a Data Engineer:

As a Data Engineer you will report into the Data Architect, and will be part of our IT function. You will work closely with other Veygo stakeholders, including the analytical team, the engineering teams as well as other departments across the domain. This will provide you with exposure to a wide range of technologies and business problems in an environment of support and collaboration.

• Create, monitor and maintain the data pipelines into our Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
• Assemble data to meet requirements and adhere to architectural designs that serve the business needs.
• Automate data processes across the Veygon and wider Mobility Domain Enterprise Data Platform.
• Support on the design and implementation of the Enterprise Architecture ensuring consistency, scalability, resiliency and future-proof.
• Collaborate closely with the Data analytical team to develop data science and Machine learning capabilities.
• Engage with engineering teams to implement solutions according to agreed and approved architecture designs.
• Evaluate technology choices for Veygo and the wider Mobility domain.

Requirements

• We are looking for an experienced Data Enginner with a solid background in developing data platforms utilising technologies such as Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools. Any experience of using Snowflake, Matillion and Tableau would be beneficial.
• Understanding of data lake and warehouse approaches.
• Understanding of dimensional data modelling.
• Understanding of security and accessibility. Ensures risks associated with deployment are adequately understood and documented.
• Experience in building high performance, distributed systems.
• Stakeholder management and good communication skills.
