You

As an experienced Data Architect central responsibility will be to develop, optimize and oversee our company’s conceptual and logical data systems.

Whether it be ETL, migrations, pipelines or analysis, you will play a key role in designing the data models, strategy and processes to expand and extend the AFSL data foundations

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the current state of the company’s databases and other data systems and identify new solutions to increase efficiency and performance
• Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management and executive teams
• Research new technologies, data modelling methods and information management systems to determine which ones should be incorporated into company data architectures
• Work with cross-functional teams to build new data platforms, pipelines and support their data needs
• Expand and deliver a BigData roadmap
• Provide insight and improvement around data governance, resilience and recovery

What we’re looking for in you

• 3+ years of relevant data architecture experience
• Proficiency working with and designing relational and non-relational data models
• Knowledge of security best practice within AWS
• Architectural experience with an AWS production environment working with data warehousing managed services    
• Ability to analyse data flows and provide insight around transformations, data quality and integrity
• Experience with Agile, scrum & cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Relevant cloud certification
• Expertise in AWS ETL tools including Glue and Kinesis
• Expertise in analytical/ML tools including Sagemaker, Athena, QuickSight or PowerBI
