"Data Analyst – IT Data Warehouse
The Admiral Group is a multinational financial services provider, where data and technology are key to our success. We have an opportunity for a Data Analyst to assist in the implementation and testing of a variety of key business processes and ongoing support within our DWH Shared Service.
You will work within the DWH Shared Service comprised of Data Engineers, Test Automation Engineers and System Administrators whose primary focus is to improve our abilities around customer scoring, customer interaction and product development through the development and support of innovative data technology solutions for a variety of internal stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic numerically minded individual, that has a keen interest in data, who can think creatively to solve problems. You must have an interest in analysis and data with a focus on attention to detail and providing great customer service.
As we work in an agile fashion, we are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced and changing environment. This requires an individual who can deliver to agreed timelines, communicate effectively, and think innovatively.
Responsibilities
As part of a multi-discipline team, you will be responsible for providing support to our current tactical solution ensuring the quality of services. With development opportunities as we evolve our strategic solution to allow for cloud migration. This will include:
- Technical delivery – to prioritise, schedule and deliver a quality service for the various supported services and systems following the submission by our business users
- Production process management - ensuring that all processes are carried out effectively - paying particular attention to those that directly impact the service to the business.
- Build knowledge of the data held and its structure, as well as the systems in which it is held.
- Liaise with teams within IT and around the Business to establish new processes and deliver these efficiently and accurately.
- Design, provide support and execute test plans for new products and data applications
- Develop ways to enhance our data quality checks.
- Identifying data efficiencies and optimisation.
You will also be expected to keep your skills up to date by following advancements in business intelligence solutions and data warehousing. This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Graduate level with a numerical, scientific or IT background
- Experience with analytics software and programming language ideally SQL or SAS
- Experience with MicroStrategy or other BI tools is desirable
- Knowledge around Data Warehousing principles and Agile methodologies is desirable
- Ability to present findings to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and creatively approach situations.
- Flexible approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to areas outside direct responsibilities
- Desire to continue professional development and cross skill
