About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at the very beginning of its journey and to shape the technological landscape in which it operates. You will have complete responsibility for designing, establishing and maintaining a technology landscape and ways of working for the Small Business team within Admiral Pioneer’s Future-of-Work Domain and its business propositions. You will also represent your business in the wider Pioneer Technology community to drive learning and synergies and a good collaborative relationship with the other domains.

Strategy| Reporting to the CEO for Small Business, and working closely with the Admiral Pioneer CTO, you will set the technology enabled path for successful launch and scaling of new business propositions.

You will lead the design and Architecture of the systems and services for Small Business working with selected systems integrators and partners as well as dedicated in-house engineering and technology teams. You will define and adopt pragmatic principles, standards, and best practice design patterns for technology solutions to drive efficiency, flexibility, and growth. You will be responsible for leading and concluding technology due diligence for technology selections and business partnerships alignment with the wider Admiral Pioneer strategies.

Delivery & Operations| You will lead all aspects of the technology implementation and post go-live operational management of the solutions for Small Business. You will lead internal and 3^rd party teams through agile delivery cycles for incremental releases of the various business propositions within Small Business. You will be Responsible for all management and maintenance of core platform systems (e.g. Cloud provider, data storage, CRM partners, Integration Pipelines, Data & Analytics Platforms) including all aspects of security, resilience and compliance.

Integration| Acting as a bridge to Admiral Group and the other Admiral Pioneer domains for all matters technology, you will ensure compliance and alignment where appropriate. You will manage relationships and engagement with Admiral Studio for consultation, collaboration and support where relevant.

Mentoring & Partnership| You will serve as a technical subject matter expert to business partners, identifying key business objectives and providing technology solutions options while ensuring compliance and adherence to promoted standards and strategic architecture blueprints. You will also contribute to and collaborate with the technology community across the Pioneer businesses.

Additional Information

The role will report into the CEO of Small Business.

Due to Covid, the whole Admiral Pioneer team is working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.

We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, however, once it is safe to return to the office, we will have days when the whole team comes together to collaborate in Cardiff. Please note you will need to be comfortable occasionally making that journey to our Cardiff office as part of your personal commute for this role.
