We’re looking for a new Consumer Content Writer to join our content team with responsibility for producing helpful, engaging and accessible written communications for all our products and brands.

This will range from SMS updates to service emails and long form content on Admiral’s websites.

Main Duties

  • Create compelling, engaging, relevant copy for customers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver communications in different formats and channels, both digitally and offline, that enhance the whole customer journey.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders including subject matter experts, compliance teams and in-house designers to deliver communications for a range of systems.
  • Refine existing content and communication based on testing and feedback.
  • Work with relevant contacts to ensure that content is fully compliant with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty guidelines.
  • Help deliver Admiral’s content strategy and identify content opportunities to engage and assist customers.
  • Work with freelancers and agencies to produce optimised web content including landing pages and blog content.
  • Draft and edit customer facing letters and emails, ensuring content is compliant and in line with our Brand and Tone of Voice.
  • Help deliver projects from concepts to final output within deadlines, making sure that internal processes are followed and the relevant approvals are in place.
  • Create content for a range of customer channels including ‘how to’ guides, video scripts, expert articles, and digital marketing copy.
  • Work closely with the SEO team to optimise content for SEO and help support Admiral’s SEO position through content edits, generation and keyword research.
  • Attend regular meetings with the social media, PR, eCRM and product teams to develop new and relevant content that answers customer queries and serves their needs.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the success of the content activities.
  • Industry training will be provided and continuous professional development is actively encouraged.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in copywriting including writing service and operational communications (letters, leaflets and application forms, and emails/web copy).
  • Experience in managing communications across a customer journey and the ability to see through the eyes of the consumer.
  • Experience in writing in Financial Services or other regulated environment.
  • An engaging, accessible writing style with excellent proof reading and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with working with briefs, and being able to distil what matters, cut through jargon and make things simple.
  • Confidence in managing a range of stakeholders, being collaborative and flexible but equipped to influence and persuade where necessary.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage workload, working on a range of projects at the same time and to deadlines.
  • An ability to think creatively to deliver solutions that work for stakeholders and the brand.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Be able to work successfully as part of a team but also independently using own initiative.
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Adobe, Excel. Use of Jira an advantage.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of SEO best practice, familiarity with Google Analytics and SEO tools such as SEMrush.
