About the job
Join our Complex Litigation Team as a Paralegal with a focus on Litigation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cases involving road traffic accident (RTA) claims up to £25,000, as well as Fatality, Bankruptcy, and Capacity claims. These cases require excellent client care, technical skills, and sensitivity.
This is an exciting, fee-earning position where you’ll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio of Part 7 litigated RTA claims. You’ll dive into cases that present complex factual or legal challenges, guiding them from the initial letter of claim, through the intricacies of dropping out from the OIC/MOJ portal (whether due to complexity or value), all the way to issuing under Part 7 or making applications to transfer files from Part 8 to Part 7. From around the six-month mark to limitation and up to trial, you’ll be instrumental in steering each case towards a successful outcome for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a varied caseload of Part 7 litigated RTA claims, including both liability-admitted and denied cases
- Draft and serve legal documents such as court pleadings, witness statements, applications, and schedules of loss
- Investigate liability and maximise client outcomes by thoroughly exploring all injury types and financial losses
- Collaborate closely with the Serious Injuries Team, working towards high-value settlements and transferring or concluding complex claims with expert guidance
- Engage in ongoing professional development through mentoring, buddying, and shadowing on major Multi-Track cases
- Champion excellent client care, ensuring every aspect of the client journey is handled with sensitivity and professionalism
- Contribute to cross-departmental communication to drive positive outcomes and knowledge sharing within the firm
- Always act in your client's best interests by proactively seeking positive results
- Deliver exceptional client care and ensure all injuries and losses are fully maximised
- Work closely with the Serious Injuries Team (SIT) and Complex Department, building claims towards substantial settlements (over £25,000)
Your caseload will be varied - ranging from liability-admitted to denied cases, often with substantial value at stake. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to tackle complex files while continually honing your technical expertise and litigation skills on higher-value matters.
Experience
- Case Handling experience of running a Personal Injury claim and being able to review medical reports and value claims using JC Guidelines and case law is essential
- Previous experience of running Part 7 Litigation cases is preferred, but not essential
- Experience of running a Fast Track claim to trial is sought after, but not essential
- Client care skills are essential
Employment structure
The role is based at our head office in Cardiff City Centre, with a 37.5-hour work week. Following our Smart Working model, you'll split time between home and office, with team office days each Monday. New starters complete three months of in-office training, including induction and buddying.
You will have clear targets and are expected to join marketing events and support other handlers through mentoring, workshops, and training.

Talent Specialist - Claims, Ops & Non-Motor
What areas do you look after?
I am a Candidate Engagement Consultant recruiting for our Claims, Ops & Non-Motor areas.
Tell us about you and your Admiral story?
I joined Admiral back in 2017, I just finished college and had no idea what I wanted to do. But after a short amount of time in the company, I knew this was somewhere I would fit right in and could build a career. I started off as a Motor Claims Handler in our Third Party department. After 1 year of handling, I progressed quite quickly and became a Senior Handler. After 4 years in that position, I moved over to the Accidental Loss department as a Team Manager. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in our Motor Claims department and after 7 years working there, I decided to take on a new challenge and join the Recruitment Team helping others start their careers.
Why would you recommend Admiral?
Admiral is known for how well the staff are treated, the amazing benefits we receive, and the overall culture and family feel it gives. I can honestly say I have never worked in a company as unique and special as this. I have never felt so valued not just as a member of staff, but as an individual. I love how opportunities are always open for you to progress and achieve, no matter your length of service or your position.
