"About the role:
With the introduction of the Whiplash Reforms on 31st May 2021, Admiral Law has been structuring teams, preparing procedures and training, ready to meet the opportunities these changes have brought. We are at the forefront of adapting our processes and IT systems, with early and industry leading approaches to the submission of our clients claims, so that our clients claims have been progressed seamlessly both before and after the implementation of the reforms.
As a result of our proactive approach, the Complex Teams have recruitment opportunities for the right people:
- In Cardiff we have 2 Pre-Litigation teams and one Litigation team, with Team Managers, a Senior and Advanced Handler across our virtual floor. Cases which have probable value above £15,000 are referred into these teams, and either settled by them, or developed above £25,000 and referred in to our Serious Injury Teams (SIT) cross site.
- Currently operating successfully in a work from home environment, the level of supervision through 121’s, Teams, file reviews and workshops, ensures that both these specialist teams are fully supported, and that innovation, personal development, and client care, remain core to our function. In addition, all of our Complex teams benefit from the support provided through buddying from the Serious Injuries Teams members and management group.
- You’ll run your own caseload of pre litigation claims, ensuring that all aspects of injuries and losses are explored and advanced. The caseload comprises referred cases from within and outside the business, ripe for tactical development and settlement.
- You will always act in the best interests of your client, developing and progressing the case to a proactive outcome, whether through own settlement or referral to our Complex Litigation team or to our SIT teams should the claims value mature. You will be at the heart of the business, operating as the linchpin between our New Business and Case Handling Departments and SIT.
You would normally be expected to work core hours of 39.5 per week, subject to the workplace changes which are at present, as well as those which will be in place post pandemic, across Admiral Law.
There is an expectation that, once we return to the office in some capacity, and only when safe, you may need to travel to Court, Counsel/witness meetings, or for external training, which may necessitate exceeding these hours or having overnight stays. Reasonable expenses will be covered.
You will have the opportunity to engage in your own advocacy where appropriate and with correct training/supervision. We have excellent relationships with barristers chambers, and as such offer the opportunity for you to attend conferences and trials, either to observe, or with your own cases, to really assist with your learning.
In addition to your case handling role, you will be expected to mentor handlers both within our Complex teams, and other departments, assisting them with queries in both case handling and workshop/training situations. You will work closely with our Serious Injury Teams, identifying cases suitable for the Multi Track and will be able to track your referrals through shadowing those team members on significant and catastrophic cases, attending conferences, hearings and settlement meetings as above. A positive approach to cross department communication is essential.
We are using ground breaking arguments and tactics which are not prevalent in the industry and have had great success, over the 3 years we have operated. This is your opportunity to be at the cutting edge of the existing regime, and to be part of our team approach to tactics and opportunities presented by this year’s Whiplash Reforms.
If successful in your application, your options for development and opportunity will be many and varied. We have a track record of developing our pre litigation handlers into Complex litigators through the close team culture and spirit which makes our teams so robust.
We are proud that before the pandemic, we had been at the forefront of embracing the concepts of wellness and flexible working. We are finalising our post pandemic structuring which will include an element of office and home working, to ensure that you are able to balance your personal and work life in the best possible way.
About you:
For this role, we require candidates to have a minimum of 12 months experience in dealing with Personal Injury Claims. Supervision and mentoring will be provided, and we will give you the training and core skills to identify value and handle cases of considerable complexity and specialism in a progressive manner.
A hunger to learn and develop your own ability is a prerequisite as is a commitment to shared learning, teamwork and constructive communication.
Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance:
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
At Admiral, we are proud to be a diverse business where we put our people and customers first. We have great benefits to ensure employees have a great work-life balance; it's one of the reasons we're voted no. 1 in the 2020 Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For in the UK. We want you to have an element of freedom to define a working lifestyle that supports this, so accommodate flexible hours wherever possible.
