About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially minded Commercial Lead Analyst to join our Admiral Money team. This role is pivotal in driving performance visibility and profitability insights across our unsecured personal loans portfolio. You’ll be at the heart of our trading rhythm, ensuring we understand what’s happening in the business today—and what’s coming tomorrow.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Pricing, Credit Strategy and Product to deliver actionable insights, lead our profitability tracking, and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities

Trading:

• Lead the development and refinement of our trading process.
• Own the daily trading updates: identify trends, flag changes, track impacts, and short-term forecasts.
• Facilitate cross-functional “Trading” discussions to ensure alignment and readiness across teams to deliver on commercial targets.
• Monitor Trading performance and commercial KPIs, identifying trends and recommending strategic adjustments.
• Create and maintain trading documentation for key committees and forums.
• Own the budgeting process for the unsecured loans portfolio across submissions from multiple teams and evolving existing models into a dynamic reforecasting model.
• Drive our commercial analysis of competitors—investigate and benchmark competitors—through annual reporting to ensure viable targets and contextualise our performance.

Profitability:

• Lead on analysing the profitability of our business, modelling expected lifetime profitability from existing trends and behavioural monitoring (e.g., attrition), and using those learnings to improve our profit models.
• Own Profitability forums, facilitating cross-functional understanding and driving action-oriented improvements.
• Analyse cost allocation and coverage by new business to ensure we are making the best possible lending decisions.
• Track profit & loss emergence against assumptions and drive improvements in our assumptions.
• Monitor attrition trends and their impact on profitability.
• Develop and refine cohort profitability forecasting methodologies, with opportunities to collaborate with experienced modellers.

Lead Analyst responsibilities:

• Mentor and support analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous improvement.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Is confident working with large datasets and financial models.
• Communicates clearly and can influence across levels.
• Is proactive, curious, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Has experience in financial services, ideally in lending, pricing or finance teams.
• Finance experience, especially in a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, is a bonus.
• SQL and Python will be a key part of the role. A basic level is required but these can be improved on the job.
