Business Partner

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Admiral Financial Services Ltd (AFSL), Admiral’s lending entity, to help determine the pricing strategy and work collaboratively with several teams across the business to foster growth in the right way.

Reporting to the Pricing Manager, the role aims to enable the business strategy through building sophistication around how we set our prices, combining a thorough understanding of who each customer is and an in-depth appreciation of how the business operates and how it generates revenue and profit. The team is also responsible for portfolio curation, performance and profit monitoring, and supporting the direction and delivery of product development. The role will also serve as a business partner between each of the teams.

This role will have an initial focus on building out the sophistication in AFSLs secured car finance propositions (for example, HP and PCP) but will subsequently involve moving into other areas such as other unsecured products as well as exploring potential opportunities with existing customers.

The team is looking to grow further to support its ambitious goals of delivering the best product and price to each customer.

Role Responsibilities

• Working closely with the product verticals to fully understand the business problem, and to collaborate effectively across the relevant functions to deliver value-adding propositions, through both product design and price.
• Helping determine and evolve the pricing strategy.
• Understanding in detail the composition of the portfolio and helping to steer its growth.
• Monitoring the portfolio and communicating how it performs against the forecast and analysing the source of any deviation.

Skills & Experience

• Experience / good working knowledge of both statistical and financial models (for example, NPV modelling). 
• An inquisitive approach, and the ability to seek out the answers or finding who the relevant people are and spending time with them.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work in often pressurised environments.
• Ability and willingness to understand how the lending business operates and a curiosity to explore how we can evolve and refine what we do.
• Excellent communication skills enabling you to work collaboratively with other teams, and to regularly communicate decisions and strategies upwards and outwards.
• Experience in working with secured car finance products (for example, PCP or HP) including exposure to the end-to-end customer journey for these products is desirable.
• Experience with SAS, SQL, Python, R, or similar languages would be an advantage.

Qualifications

• A degree in a numerate subject, though not necessary.
• A professional qualification in a relevant financial subject (for example, ACA, CFA, or actuarial qualification) is desirable but not essential.

Additional Information

Due to COVID, the AFSL team is working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home. We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future. However, once it is safe to return to the office, we will have days when the whole team comes together to collaborate. You can decide if you want to come to the office between 2-5 days per week.
