"An exciting role has arisen to join Admiral IT as Technical IT Risk Specialist.
The Technical IT Risk Specialist will be a key member of the Risk, Audit & Compliance team within the Office of the CIO, facilitating the identification, analysis, and monitoring of IT Operational and Technology risks across the Information Technology (IT) Department.
The Technical IT Risk Specialist will perform risk assessments and identify options and recommendations for the treatment of IT risk. They will act as a role model for all risk and compliance management principles across the department and act as an ambassador outside of IT, driving mitigation and the reduction of risk exposure caused by technology risks and issues. To facilitate proactive IT risk management within an IT risk management framework.
As Technical IT Risk Specialist you will work with Senior stakeholders and their teams to manage risks and issues. Support the management of a comprehensive suite of IT risks and risk treatment plans and mature the Admiral IT approach to risks and controls.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the enhancement and maintenance of Admiral IT’s risk framework.
- Conduct oversight and challenge of IT’s key risks and issues and support the production of Admiral IT’s risk reporting requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate key risk metrics across IT and research and identify emerging risks internally and externally to Admiral IT.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and document risks and issues and formulate and manage action plans.
- Agree priorities and capture all specifics needed to facilitate delivery of an effective IRM capability in IT.
- Provide support to strategic programmes, projects, and initiatives and escalate risk at the right level where and when appropriate.
- Collaborate with other functions on IT Risk matters (e.g., Group Risk, Info Sec, Procurement)
Qualifications and Education requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Formal Risk Management qualification (e.g., CRISC, IRM Enterprise Risk Management certificate or equivalent)
- Service based qualification (e.g., ITIL foundation or similar)
Required Skills/Experience
- Demonstrable experience in IT risk management and risk management techniques.
- Familiar with supervisory environment FCA/PRA and regulations specifically in relation to IT.
- ServiceNow IRM/GRC or equivalent technical solution experience.
- Experience of working with Information Technology control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, NIST, CIS, TOGAF
- Must have an agile, collaborative, and persuasive working style, understanding and building relationships.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience of enterprise-wide operational risk and issue management.
- Good experience of process flows.
- Able to grasp complex technical feature concepts and detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability with a focus on detail.

(We are happy to discuss remote working options, however the role will be UK based with some travel to our Cardiff office).
