"Part of the IT Supplier Relationship Management team, the IT Supplier Manager plays a key role in delivering Admiral’s IT Supplier Management Programme. Working in partnership with our supplier’s representatives, colleagues and other key internal stakeholders, they are responsible for improving and optimising the value creation from our suppliers as well as providing a level of service assurance and governance. Their actions ensure that key third party suppliers are being governed appropriately, allowing Admiral to operate effectively and achieve our ambitious goals.
Key objectives of the role include helping to develop and mature the IT Supplier Management function, bringing a number of service management planned initiatives to life and driving value, visibility and assurance.
Main Duties
- Building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with suppliers, continually driving value and ensuring alignment to internal objectives.
- Working with internal IT teams to understand current activity, focus and priorities; translating to suppliers and influencing accordingly. Acting as the conduit between internal and external teams.
- Ensuring SLA obligations within contracts are understood and adhered to on an ongoing basis and supported by detailed evidence (reports, meetings and minutes).
- Chairing and attending regular Relationship Management Reviews, both internal and external.
- Acting as a point of escalation for supplier issues and relationship queries along with prioritising, addressing and communicating resulting actions appropriately as necessary.
- Engaging in a culture of continuous improvement and driving initiatives through to completion.
- Owning, prioritising and progressing Service Management activities to ensure they deliver intended value (i.e. Risk, Problem, CSI), updating the Management Team where appropriate and making considered amendments where required.
- Updating and maintaining records and documentation where required.
- Assisting with the delivery of internal and external projects representing IT Supplier Management.
- Assisting in the delivery of service and other ad-hoc duties as required.
Essential Attributes, Skills, and Experience
- Capable of representing the function with a high degree of professionalism while consistently meeting and exceeding the high standards set by the department.
- Always exhibiting a strong work ethic, continually driving to achieve results and able to manage a number of conflicting priorities.
- Self-motivated, comfortable taking ownership of tasks and building relationships with external suppliers, internal stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to effectively organise and follow process, challenge where appropriate, whilst working with accuracy and retaining relevant records.
- A proactive self-starter, who is able to take the initiative and push themselves to deliver quality results.
- Dependable, who holds themselves and others accountable while striving for improvement.
- Confident, self-assured and able to stand their ground and challenge when appropriate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels.
- Able to plan and prioritise, communicating updates and escalating where and when necessary.
- A strong customer focus on internal stakeholders and value.
- A team player who is able to work effectively on their own, or as part of a team.
- Numerate and analytical with an eye for detail, able to identify trends in data, distilling outcomes and constructing data-rational business cases.
- Able to work to consistently to process and with a high level of accuracy.
Desirable
- Experience within IT and Service Management Processes.
- Experience of managing or working with suppliers delivering IT services.
- Knowledge and experience of Agile Methodology and Principles.
- Experience working within an IT environment and/or contractual, commercial or procurement environments.
- Understanding and exposure to procurement and legal documents and practises.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.

I joined Admiral in 2006, fresh out of University as a Customer Service Consultant where I dealt with telephone queries and processed policy amendments. After three years I became a Quality Executive within our Complaints Department, resolving complaints, working on complaint prevention and providing fair outcomes to our customers. It was in this department I progressed in a number of different roles including Quality Assessor, Assistant Team Manager and finally Team Manager before joining the Recruitment team in 2022.
