Location: Hybrid role based in our Cardiff office (1–2 days per week).
About the Role
Senior Pricing Analysts are specialists who conduct complex analysis to optimise pricing strategies, enhance profitability, and improve market competitiveness. For those with people management responsibilities, the role also includes supporting team members in achieving these goals. This position offers autonomy to influence pricing strategy, lead analytical projects, and see your insights directly impact business outcomes. As the team and portfolio expand, there is a clear pathway to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Pricing Strategy & Analysis: Develop and implement innovative pricing strategies that drive profitability, competitiveness, and customer value.
- Data Analysis: Translate complex data into actionable insights, identifying trends and opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Pricing Implementation: Support the technical rollout, testing, and validation of pricing changes.
- Reporting: Create impactful reports and dashboards to monitor performance and guide business actions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate insights to influence decision-making.
- Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to ensure pricing remains competitive and compliant.
- Growth & Leadership: Take ownership of projects and develop leadership capabilities with opportunities for progression.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a General Insurance or Financial Services Pricing department, or a strong background in data and analytics.
- Solid understanding of pricing methodologies and insurance data analytics.
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, or similar.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to a range of stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive to move projects forward.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that values innovation.
