We have a number of opportunities for experienced Project Managers to join one of the fastest growing parts of Admiral Group – Admiral Financial Services Limited (AFSL).

The Role

Admiral Financial Services are looking for a Project Manager to help us run some of our most impactful strategic change.  This is a new function and, as such, the role will be varied, with opportunities to get involved in establishing effective project governance processes and tools.

Responsibilities

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the following:

• Deliver projects and programmes, and their associated business value, on time and on budget
• Project initiation – including project planning, business case, team building, budget forecasting and resource planning
• Carry out monitoring and control activities on projects to track progress
• Report to stakeholders on the status of projects / programmes
• Manage project risks, issues and associated actions
• Manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Lead project governance meetings e.g. project steering
• Lead and motivate project teams
• Interface with an agile delivery function
• Contribute to establishing / improving project governance processes within the organisation
• Project closure – embed learnings into the organisation

This will be a busy and fast paced role to match the ambition of Admiral Loans.  You will be required to work across multiple systems and processes.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you will need to work closely with a range of stakeholders to help to achieve the business objectives.  You may also be responsible for coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.

Essential skills/experience needed:

• minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Project or Programme Management role, with responsibility for leading large, strategic projects / programmes
• understanding of key technology concepts such as cloud infrastructure and agile
• thorough knowledge of waterfall and agile delivery methods
• effective communicating, influencing, and negotiating
• excellent interpersonal skills
• ability to manage a varied workload and deliver to a deadline
• proactive and constantly seeking to improve

Desirable skills/experience:

• PRINCEII or APM certified
• Certified Scrum Master
• Financial services experience
