"It is a hugely exciting to time to join the DnA (Data and Analytics) tribe as we start to expand our Data and Analytics capabilities across the organisation. We have built and launched a leading cloud-based data platform for Admiral, and we have initiatives working across Pricing, Fraud, Telematics, Customer Contact, Claims, Digital and more to roll out these capabilities and add significant business value.

We are looking for an analytical thinker who can research insights, develop our strategy, and design and develop the implementation of our data strategy. You will be a talented, enthusiastic individual with the ability to develop people and build skills, capabilities and knowledge across the squad.
The DnA tribe is made up of five engineering squads with a view of growing the number of squads over the coming months. The tribe covers a wide range of disciplines including data warehousing, web development, API development and machine learning.
With guidance from the Product Lead, the Product Owner will have accountability for translating business needs into a roadmap for delivery, ensuring that we are maximising the value and aligning to our OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). You will work with the squad to break down this roadmap into features/epics and consumable outcomes for the Squad.
Main Duties
- Working with the Product Lead and the wider Product team to set the vision, goals, and roadmap for the squad
- Owning and managing the product backlog for the squad, including prioritising requirements in line with Admiral’s strategy and targets
- Engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs, upcoming priorities, and product demand
- Signing off deliverables from the squad and deciding when the changes are ready to be released to live
- Generating ideas by working with the squad, the business and through external research, committees, etc.
- Being a positive force for the squad, promoting the vision, ensuring everyone understands the why and educating the squads about the business and its needs
- Manage scope dependencies within the Tribe in collaboration with the team, Scrum Master and other Product Owners
- Engage with the Squad, constructively challenge, and provide continuous feedback to ensure the squad output meets requirements. Stay actively involved throughout the delivery, supporting where possible through clarifying objectives, etc.
- Participate in sprint demos and demonstrate how squad deliveries contribute towards Tribe OKRs
- Work closely with technology leadership to align Technology Vision and Product Vision into a single product roadmap
- Manage scope and business-related risks, issues and mitigations
- Participate alongside the Scrum Master in squad-level ceremonies

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- An analytical, problem-solving mindset with sharp attention to detail
- A genuine interest in data and technology and a keen awareness of the possibilities in this space
- The ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple workflows simultaneously
- The ability to operate on a detailed level but also see the bigger picture
- Experience of working with and building strong working relationships with a large network across the organisation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to deconstruct complicated concepts into clear, understandable deliverables
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- An understanding of Agile practices and Agile ways of working
- Experience using Agile working tools (i.e. Jira, or Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Experience of working in a data and analytics discipline
- Experience working with cloud (AWS, Google, or other)
- Cloud Platform management experience (AWS, Google, or other)
- An awareness of Information Security principles and experience with IAM, automated scanning tools and experience of supporting iterative product releases
- Demonstrable experience in an Agile set up in which a Product Owner was present, or experience in a Product Ownership function
