"About Us
It is a hugely exciting time to join the Data and Analytics (DnA) tribe as we continue to expand our DnA capabilities across the organisation. We have built and launched a cloud-based data platform for Admiral, and we have initiatives working across Pricing, Fraud, Telematics, Customer Contact, Claims, Digital and more to roll out these capabilities and add significant business value.
If data drives you, and you have great ideas about the future of data in Admiral and want to help us become a data-first company, this job may be for you. We are looking for a logical thinker who can research insights, develop our strategy, and design and develop the implementation of our data strategy. You will be talented and enthusiastic with the ability to develop people and build skills, capabilities, and knowledge across the squad. You will be experienced as a Product Owner guiding a data focussed delivery team into achieving a successful product or working as a Senior Data Analyst looking to take the next step in your career.
You will be joining us as a Product Owner within our Data Community sub-tribe. You will work with our Pricing, Analytics, Fraud, Claims and Telematics departments providing accurate, real-time data to our end-users and bespoke tooling solutions for our end users. The squad has been in place since the beginning of DnA and has excellent experience of working together. We’re looking for someone passionate and driven to help guide the team to delivering outstanding value to our stakeholders through our real-time data and our cloud-based data warehouse.
With guidance from the Product Lead, the Product Owner will have accountability for translating business needs into a roadmap for delivery, ensuring that we maximise the value and align with our OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). You will work with the squad to break down this roadmap into features/epics and consumable outcomes for the squad.
Main Duties
- Working with the Product lead and the wider Product team to set the vision, goals, and roadmap for the squad.
- Owning and managing the product backlog for the squad, including prioritising requirements in line with Admiral’s strategy and targets.
- Engaging with stakeholders to understand and support business needs, upcoming priorities, and product demand.
- Signing off deliverables from the squad and deciding when the changes are ready to be released to live.
- Generating ideas by working with the squad, the business and through external research, committees etc.
- Being positive for the squad, supporting promoting the vision, ensuring everyone understands the why and educating the squads about the business and its needs.
- Manage scope dependencies within the Tribe in collaboration with the team, Squad Lead, and other Product Owners.
- Engage with the squad, constructively question, and provide continuous feedback to ensure the squad output meets requirements. Stay actively involved throughout the delivery, supporting where possible through clarifying objectives, etc.
- Participate in sprint demos and demonstrate how squad deliveries contribute towards Tribe OKRs.
- Work closely with technology leadership to align Technology Vision and Product Vision into a single product roadmap.
- Manage scope and business-related risks, issues, and mitigations.
- Participate alongside the Squad Lead in squad-level ceremonies.

Business Support Recruitment Officer
What areas do you look after?
I currently support Tech Recruitment.
Tell us about you and your Admiral story?
I joined Admiral in February 2012 as a Sales Executive and quickly grew fond of Admiral and its culture. It was clear there were many opportunities and different career paths. I moved over to our Claims function in 2014 as a Case Handler and from there I moved into Claims Underwriting, which lead to an opportunity to work in our IT department in a semi-technical role. I gained valuable insight into a side of the business that I never thought would have been possible. The time was then right to move into our People Services department where I have been since November 2018.
Why would you recommend Admiral?
I really could go on and on as there are so many reasons for me but if I had to pinpoint two, it would be the people and the opportunity for self-development and career growth.
