As a handler in our Over5k Team, you will be representing our clients who have been injured and suffered a financial loss as a result of a road traffic accident to bring a claim against the Defendant for damages using court proceedings as and when required. The successful candidate will deal with a caseload of claims from start to finish and will on occasion have the opportunity to take a claim to trial.
Our Over5k team focuses on delivering a high standard of care to our clients, ensuring they recover the compensation that they are entitled to. The role of the case handler is pivotal to ensure that each of our clients get the care and compensation that they are entitled to.
You will also be responsible for the investigation of our client’s claim for Personal Injury. Your role will involve obtaining medical evidence in support of your client’s claim, valuing the injuries sustained and gathering all the required evidence in respect of their losses.
Main Responsibilities and Requirements
- Ability to prioritise and manage a full case load
- Proactively reviewing accident circumstances and any relevant case law
- Assessing and investigating liability
- Reviewing Medical Reports & valuing injury claims
- Reviewing financial losses
- Drafting Court Documents
- Advising clients in respect of liability and quantum
- Considering prospects and taking a pragmatic approach to settlements
- Prioritizing and managing a to do list
- Great telephone manner
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to make decisions
- A willingness to learn
- Good initiative and ability to meet deadlines
Essential Skills
- Previous PI/Case handling experience
- Numeracy/literacy and IT skills
- Good time management
