An exciting opportunity for an experienced and talented People Services (HR) Executive (PSE) to join Wales’s only FTSE 100 company to actively contribute to the continuing success of Admiral Group Plc.  

This is a 12-month fixed term contract (with the possibility of an extension). Reporting into a Business Partner, this role acts as the point of people expertise for their business area, working with the management team to deliver creative, solution focussed and innovative ways of working that allows the business to deliver its strategic goals in a sustainable and consistent manner.

The Business Partners team plays a central role in delivering people led initiatives, working alongside centres of excellence (L&D, Reward, Recruitment, D&I, Smart Working) and operational support teams to drive business change and help the organisation meet its objectives. Working closely with partners in the business, the PSE is not only a conduit for the delivery of the people strategy into the business but an active participant in influencing and shaping its delivery.

Coaching managers in operational implementation and staff welfare, the PSE’s focus is centred on enabling business strategy by delivering great people approaches to business challenges. 

Admiral’s PSEs are custodians of its culture, facilitating its evolution and ensuring the organisation’s policies and actions are in line with its values. 

We’re looking for someone with previous HR experience at an operational level, working with all levels of the business.

Daily Duties

  • Support, coach and advise Operational Managers and Team Managers to achieve their objectives through their people.
  • Collaborating and engaging with the business to understand and support manager’s needs, objectives and strategies.  
  • Analysis of data to enhance business performance in their respective areas.
  • Actively challenge the norm within the business areas and within People Services to bring about beneficial change.
  • Using early intervention mediation techniques to prevent or minimise employee relations issues escalating.
  • Manage appeals and grievances to completion, providing feedback and recommendations to all relevant parties to improve future employee relations.
  • Carrying out disciplinary, performance management and wellbeing guidance and coaching.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business and its strategy, with the ability to add value through a people lens.
  • Proven ability to develop and effectively manage and develop relationships.
  • The ability to work within a dynamic fast paced team, sharing best practice.
  • Excellent people management skills, including coaching and developing others.
  • Ability to interpret data within business context and use HR knowledge to propose solutions.
  • Strong emotional intelligence.
  • Be able to work under pressure with a high volume fast paced workload.
  • Open minded and pro-active to change and self-development.
  • HR qualification (CIPD Level 5) an advantage but not essential.

Additional Information

We have adapted a hybrid approach and we expect that you will be able to decide to come to the office between 2-5 days per week and will aim to be as flexible as you can. If you would like to discuss flexible working, please contact the Recruitment Officer looking after this position.
