Low Velocity Impact/Fraud Case Handlers:
As a case handler in this department, you would manage a caseload of claims where opponents have raised veracity concerns that include: -
• Low Velocity Impact (where it is suggested the accident was not of sufficient force to cause injury);
• Staged or induced accidents (where it is suggested our client deliberately caused an accident for financial gain)
• Phantom passenger claims (where the number of occupants in our client’s vehicle will be disputed).
• Other veracity concerns (where an opponent will raise other concerns about our client’s evidence, their injuries, or financial losses).
As an ethical firm, we are of course committed to ensuring that only legitimate claims are advanced by us. However, we often see these allegations raised with limited or no objective justification and the LVI Department provide specialist support to meritorious clients who face such arguments.
This is a great opportunity to join an exciting area. Our existing team is made up of solicitors, legal executives, and paralegals of mixed and broad experience. We have both roles in our Pre-Litigation and Post Litigation teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your technical experience.
Main Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Ability to prioritise and manage a full case load
- Proactively reviewing accident circumstances and any relevant case law
- Reviewing Medical Reports & valuing injury claims
- Reviewing financial losses
- Drafting Court Documents
- Advising clients in respect of liability and quantum
- Considering prospects and taking a pragmatic approach to settlements
- Prioritising and managing a to do list
- Great telephone manner
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to make decisions
- A strong team ethos and willingness to engage
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good initiative and ability to meet deadlines
About you:
Experience of handling claims of this nature is helpful but not necessary. Full training will be provided. You must have a genuine interest in law and be willing to learn new skills and approaches to tasks. Numeracy, literacy and IT skills are vital, and you will need to be a great communicator.
Whilst you will be supported in your role, you will need to be able to manage your time effectively, ensuring adherence with service level agreements and court deadlines. Being able to prioritise your work in what can be a busy environment will be essential.
A large part of the role is solving problems and so the ability to weigh up various approaches and then action the appropriate solution will be useful. An eagerness to “get stuck in”, whilst you maintain strong attention to detail will serve you well. Finally, you should be as enthusiastic about delivering great service as we are! The desire to perform to the best of your abilities will be indispensable when you join the team here at Admiral Law.
