Capitalising on our successes in the car and home insurance markets, we are in a position to be hiring a Pricing Analyst to drive future growth through consultative bespoke analytics.

You’ll be exposed to some of the smartest pricing and analytical heads in the industry, and you’ll have the opportunity to make a material impact on their businesses.  At the same time, you’ll be increasing your knowledge and experience as you understand the various methodologies and techniques that are employed in pricing and analytics departments across the insurance market.

Reporting to the Data Insight Analytics Manager, you will be expected to become a key member of a consultative analytics team that reflects our already market-leading data services, and showcases your investigative analytical skills.  But in return you’ll have the freedom to explore and work with new technology, concepts, product developments and entirely new markets.

As building meaningful and productive relationships is a key element of this role, there will be a requirement for regular face-to-face contact and external meetings with pricing departments, senior managers and directors. There is an expectation of travel within the UK and the role may involve participation in professional and social networking events. 

Responsibilities

• Support our partners by providing expertise and analysis with a view to assist them achieve their goals

• Use Machine learning and analytical techniques to create scalable solutions
• Create beneficial and actionable high value bespoke analysis through data mining, data visualisation techniques & commentary
• Contribute to the continuous development of our data services, including identifying and supporting the creation of new and bespoke services, based on partners requirements
• Explore our vast data estate and research new sources of data to maximise our offering to the market
• Understand market trading conditions and developments in the industry
• Establish and maintain external relationships

Key competencies

Core Competencies

• 2+ years’ experience in any general insurance pricing or financial services role
• Experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
• An excellent communicator
• Confident nature and a positive attitude
• Personable and professional

Desirable Role Specific Competencies

• Working knowledge of SQL and/or SAS
• Experience with an analytical software package (Machine Learning skills are highly desirable but not essential)
• Commercial acumen
• Ability to evidence and prioritise
