"Household Insurance is a key part of Admiral’s strategy for the upcoming years. In the 11 years since we launched our Household product, we have grown to over 1.7m customers and we are looking for talented leaders to join our Pricing team and help us drive forward our ambitions for further growth in this market.
Whilst our focus has been traditional homeowners and renters, we also offer a comprehensive Landlord product, and we want to maximise the opportunity which exists in this market too. We have recently recruited a Head of Landlord Insurance and are now looking to recruit a dedicated Head of Landlord Pricing, to work alongside them and deliver our ambitious plans for the business.
We see Pricing as one of the absolute cornerstones of our success at Admiral and this role offers the exciting combination of taking a fledgling product from its early stages through to becoming a meaningful part of our business, whilst having the support of an experienced group of peers and leaders who will challenge and support you on this journey.
Whilst these areas are currently run from our Cardiff Headquarters, there is flexibility on location and working arrangements, and we would be open to hear from candidates from further afield.
The role will report to the Head of Household Pricing, with a dotted line to the Head of Landlord.
Your responsibilities
- Strategic leadership of the Landlord Pricing Department, both in terms of driving forward rating changes which align to the strategic goals for the product, but also in recruiting and developing a strong team of analysts who will grow with you.
- Regularly communicating with senior stakeholders inside and outside of Pricing, to update on performance, strategic projects, risks, and opportunities.
- Proactive understanding of market trends, regulatory environment and ensuring that Landlord pricing is designed to offer fair value and outcomes to our customers.
- Analysing and developing our pricing structures for these products.
- Maintaining a view of external data opportunities which could enhance our risk selection.
- Collaborating with peers in other areas of Pricing, as well as other stakeholders, particularly in Product, Underwriting and Claims.
- Management and development of more junior members of the team
Essential qualifications/experience
- A detailed understanding of General Insurance Pricing, ideally in Home Insurance related lines.
- Proven ability to get into the detail and understand complex issues within modelling.
- A track-record of finding creative and intelligent solutions when problem solving.
- A track-record of driving forward complex projects, both in terms of technical detail and where a wide range of business areas may be involved.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to take complex mathematical topics and explain them to an audience with less detailed knowledge of the topic.
