About Admiral Money
Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
The Role
Admiral Money has a plan to enhance, simplify and drive innovation through the Motor Finance industry, we are putting together a first-class team to take our ambitious proposition and strategy to market. This role will work with the Director of Motor to build the Commercial strategy, approach and team from scratch . You will have an eye for innovation and entrepreneurial flair and an excellent track record in delivering sales KPIs and detailed understanding of P+L management.
You will have a proven track record of strong and successful people management. The ability to influence people and to get teams to buy into your vision will be key to the success of this role. It will be vital that our commercial team strikes the balance between, new business, profitability and driving shared value – the successful person will be responsible for all of this.
You will have experience of B2B distribution channels within Motor Finance, with an extensive track record of working with Motor Dealers – from independents to Top 150, multi-franchise groups.
Part of your role will certainly entail transformation of Admiral Money, and the Motor Industry itself, whilst also engaging with the wider group on the distribution strategy where appropriate to benefit from wider data and commercial opportunities.
Another part of your role will be the strategic delivery of our proposition, giving SME guidance to our product and technical teams to deliver a market leading customer experience, that delivers exceptional value to our partners and shareholders.
You will be used to delivering at pace, but will have the support to fail quickly, using our test and learn philosophy.

Key Accountabilities
- Define, lead and deliver the commercial strategy for Admiral Motor Finance in line with its strategic ambition
- Establish the required commercial structure, capabilities & expertise to define and deliver on this strategy at pace
- Define and establish oversight metrics for the function, that are in keeping with the regulator’s framework around Consumer Duty – and always have a customer first design approach
- Design and embed KPI’s that deliver shared value – equity for customer, partners, regulator and shareholder
- Working alongside key stakeholders in the Admiral insurance business identify and implement opportunities to distribute loans, car finance and other future products to existing Admiral customers
- The focal point for strategic partners – whether that be strategic 3rd parties or distributors of our product

Desired Experience
- Familiar with B2B (motor dealer) distribution channel
- Proven sales management of a commercial team, preferably within the Motor Finance industry
- Experience of P+L management and management of key commercial KPI’s
- Proven ability to deliver and embed commercial strategy
- Preferably some experience working with product, technology teams to deliver innovation and change
- Sound analytical understanding of credit risk and pricing and ability to influence senior stakeholders in this area
- Experience and good knowledge of:
- Sales methodology
- Changing landscape of the regulatory environment
- Digital innovation
- Electrification of the UK Car Park
