Financial Risk Analyst

We have an exciting new role for a Financial Risk Analyst within the Financial Risk Team. The team sits in the 2^nd line and is tasked with overseeing the management of all financial risks including credit, funding & liquidity risk.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk, this is an exciting role within the risk function and the role holder will support in identifying, analysing, and reporting on areas of current and future financial risk exposure as well as providing oversight and assurance for first line activities to ensure the business operates within risk appetite & policy.

Key Duties

• Identifying, analysing, and reporting on areas of emerging and potential risk across the customer lifecycle.
• Supporting the development and implementation of a range of technical risk appetites, policies, procedures, models, and controls.
• Providing management with insight and analysis to help drive optimal financial & credit risk outcomes.
• Supporting management in the coordination and management of our Credit Risk Committee.
• Monitoring risk appetite metrics and working with the 1st line business teams to investigate breaches.
• Providing assurance that 1st line risk controls are operating well and challenging the effectiveness of controls.

Essential Skills

• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint to produce clear documents and analysis, presenting complex information in an effective manner.
• Strong planning/organisation skills with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise competing workloads, and support wider projects

Desirable Skills

• Experience of extracting, manipulating and analysing data using either Python or SQL, however, full training will be provided. 
• An undergraduate degree in a numeric subject such as Mathematics/Economics.
