About Veygo

Veygo was founded 6 years ago – part of the pioneering incubation venture ‘Admiral Pioneer’ - created to seed and launch exciting scale ups to disrupt existing marketplaces.   

Veygo has so far seen an impressive 50% YoY growth. We currently provide our customers with temporary and learner car insurance - products designed to make life easier for those wanting to share or borrow cars, insure their own car for a short amount of time, or for people learning to drive.  

What makes Veygo different?

  • We’re building flexible policies for learner drivers and people looking to share cars – whether owned or borrowed.   
  • Veygo provides comprehensive cover to those customers, meaning that the car owner’s existing insurance policy and no claims bonus is safe if the person borrowing the car has an accident.

Key Responsibilites

  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager 
  • Be a subject matter expert in a product domain 
  • Lead a team that delivers on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area 
  • Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy 
  • Drive roadmap creation and execution 
  • Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level 
  • Participate in technical design 
  • Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals 
  • Work effectively with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes 
  • Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization 

Skills and Experience 

  • Previous experience working within a People Management role
  • Extensive software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web based software solution, API design, and interactions between servers and clients 
  • Considerable experience developing backend services, ideally using Python and Django  
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management 
  • BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, proven work experience) 

Please note: this is a hybrid role based in our Cardiff office once-twice a week.
