Defence Litigators - Admiral Law

Admiral Law’s Defence Team are looking for talented and enthusiastic Case Handlers to manage a caseload of accident damage and/or bodily injury, defence work.

This is a great opportunity to join an exciting area, set-up to service a steady work stream from Admiral Claims which includes both BI and AD Defence instructions. Our existing team is made up of solicitors and paralegals of mixed and broad experience.

The Role:

As part of our dedicated Admiral Defence Team, you will be representing our Insurer Client and their Policyholders in defending various types of Motor and Bodily Injury claims and in the event of a counter claim, also pursuing these same losses on behalf of the Insurer and their Policyholder.

You will be expected to deal with matters from the commencement of proceedings up to and including trial, whilst at all times acting in the best interests of the client(s). 

You will manage your own case load using our bespoke case management system.  You will be supported in your role such that you are able to manage your time effectively, ensuring adherence with Service Level Agreements and Court deadlines.  

Being able to prioritise your work in a busy environment will be essential. With appropriate training and support the successful candidates will be expected to:

• Draft relevant Court Documents and witness statements
• Prepare trial bundles
• Brief Counsel
• Review medical reports and advise on General Damages in any BI matters
• Review and advise on Special Damages
• Consider the accident circumstances and relevant case law
• Research legal arguments
• Use the telephone effectively and professionally to speak with clients, witnesses opponents, and the Court
• Negotiate favorable and economic settlements
• Deal with payments, the settlement of damages and costs

Applicants will be able to demonstrate:

• Litigation experience in dealing with Accident Damage / BI Claims and/or Defence work - though such experience is preferable, it is not essential. Appropriate training and support will be given for the successful candidates.
• Strong grammar, punctuation and drafting skills
• Good telephone manner
• Good negotiating skills
• A keen eye for detail and research
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• A strong team ethos
• Use of their own initiative to get things done
• An ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment
