Data Analyst

About the Role

Advanced Analytics is looking for a Data Analyst to join their expanding department. Data and technology take centre stage in delivering our industry-led products; we have a large and advanced team that builds and deploys machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for all business areas. The department works with a wide range of business departments such as Pricing, Fraud, Claims, Operations, and more.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the reporting and monitoring of productionised models. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by building the reports and dashboards to support this, whilst working closely with stakeholders to ensure maximum value is being extracted. 

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and numerically minded; can think creatively around a brief; with an inquisitive mindset asking questions. You must have a keen interest in programming and analytics, good problem-solving skills, and ready to research and learn new techniques that can be applied to the task at hand. 

Main Duties

• Responsible for maintaining and expanding current reporting of productionised models
• Carry out data investigation for potential projects
• Develop, implement, and integrate new reports and dashboards for analytics output (using our chosen reporting tool, Looker)
• Liaise with our customer departments and relevant stakeholders and take responsibility for their reporting needs
• Develop an in-depth understanding of how data science is utilised across the business, enabling you to identify areas and opportunities for development and efficiencies

Key Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

• Experience with SQL
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, an inquisitive nature with a desire to learn new skills
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team

Desirable

• Ability to analyse large data sets
• Experience with R, Python, or any object-oriented programming language
