"An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Content writer to join our ever developing and expanding Marketing Team. This role is on a fixed term contract for 9 months.
Job Purpose:
Support the Content Editor in delivering our digital content strategy with responsibility for writing and updating web content across all Admiral direct insurance websites.
This will include liaising with product teams across the business and the compliance department to ensure that landing pages are accurate and up to date.
Main Duties:
- Produce and commission web content including landing pages, blog content and emails
- Optimise content for SEO through content edits, generation and keyword research
- Hold regular meetings with the social media, PR, eCRM and product teams to develop new and interesting consumer content
- Help deliver projects from concepts to final output within tight deadlines including four large link-building campaigns per year
- Research industry related topics and suggest ideas for our editorial calendar
- Develop and manage relationships with freelancers, agencies and other suppliers
- Provide copywriting support for wider marketing campaigns and customer communications
- Show initiative when it comes to creation of new content and repurposing existing content
- Help increase page views and decrease the bounce rate of website content
- Identify and interview industry experts who can contribute relevant authority or content
- Sub-edit internal and externally commissioned copy ensuring tone of voice is adhered to
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the success of content activities
- Complete regular company-wide internal training as well as relevant external training
- Must be able to take decisions and escalate where appropriate
- Support junior team members’ development
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven work experience as a content writer or editor
- Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills, with fine attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good relationship-building skills
- Working knowledge of SEO best practice for content production
- Familiarity with industry tools and CMS platforms
- Eager to learn new things, explore digital technologies and find solutions with the resources available to you
Educational Qualifications Required:
- A relevant degree or equivalent
- An understanding of editing and producing plain HTML for web pages.
