Hi, I’m Holly-Anne, and I’m a Senior Data Trainer at Admiral. I also lead the Every Body Café colleague community.
At Admiral, we want everyone to feel they can bring their whole self to work. That means creating space for colleagues with disabilities (visible and invisible), long-term health conditions, and accessibility needs, and for colleagues who are parents, partners or carers of people facing those barriers too.
That’s why I’m proud to lead the Every Body Café: a colleague community designed to be open, supportive and psychologically safe. Somewhere you can connect with others who ‘get it’, whether you want to share, listen, or simply be present.
Why we launched Every Body Café
The idea for Every Body Café came from our Neurodiversity and Accessibility colleague network where colleagues were telling us how important and valuable it is to have spaces built around shared experiences - but not everyone fits neatly into one label. Many colleagues live with co-occurring conditions or fluctuating accessibility requirements that don’t always have a single name or category. We wanted to create a community where people can find support through connections.
How it works
The Café is a casual, cosy, virtual space hosted on Microsoft Teams. We hold two 45-minute drop-in sessions each month - one in the morning (UK time) and one in the afternoon - to help accommodate different work patterns and caring responsibilities.
We spend our catch ups checking in with one another, sharing events that other colleagues might be interested in, signposting to helpful resources, and so much more.
Every Body Café is open to colleagues across the business. While our primary audience at the moment is the UK, anyone can join.
Backing it up in practice
What matters most is that support isn’t just something we talk about - it’s something we build into how we work. We’ve recently renewed our status as a Disability Confident Leader employer, which reflects our commitment to supporting colleagues in meaningful, practical ways.
If you’re considering a career at Admiral, I hope this gives you a sense of the culture you’ll find here: open, supportive, and one where you can Be You. Everyone’s experience is different - but you shouldn’t have to navigate it alone.
