This January, our People Who Like initiative delivered the ultimate midwinter pick-me-up, thanks to our ongoing sponsorship of Plantasia Tropical Zoo in Swansea.
As part of the partnership, Plantasia’s fantastic zookeepers, Catherine, Luke, and Chloe brought some of their extraordinary residents to our offices for an up-close educational experience. And what a lineup it was.
Colleagues got the chance to meet (and hold!)
Mickey and Nicholas the corn snakes
Zilla the bearded dragon
Ren and Stimpy the cockroaches
Millie the millipede
Between tentative hands, brave smiles, and lots of curious questions, the team learned brilliant facts about each species, from how they’re cared for to their important roles in conservation.
Our brave participants were also rewarded with a Golden Ticket - a free child’s pass to visit Plantasia Tropical Zoo, where they can continue their learning, explore the rainforest habitat, and meet even more exotic creatures in Swansea’s own tropical oasis.
A bit about Plantasia
Plantasia Tropical Zoo is a lush indoor rainforest in the heart of Swansea, home to over 40 species from reptiles and insects to mammals and tropical plants. Beyond being a great day out, Plantasia runs educational programmes, outreach visits, and conservation projects, making it a natural fit for Admiral’s community focused sponsorships.
Through our partnership, colleagues benefit from free or discounted passes, immersive experiences, and opportunities to get closer to the natural world, all while supporting vital conservation and educational work.
What is People Who Like?
People Who Like is our colleague led initiative designed to bring more joy, curiosity, and community into the everyday work experience. Whether it’s wellness events, creative workshops, volunteering opportunities, or in this case meeting a bearded dragon on a Tuesday morning, the initiative helps connect colleagues through shared interests and memorable moments.
Thank you Plantasia and People who like for a lovely experience!
