Admiral may be best known for its Cardiff roots, but Peterborough is becoming an increasingly important part of our story. Today, more than 100 colleagues work from our Peterborough site, supporting customers across Pet and Household Claims, as well as other specialist teams. And we’re continuing to grow.
With the opening of our new office space at Lynch Wood Park, we’re reinforcing a simple message: Peterborough matters to us, and so do the people who choose to build their careers here, with us.
We spoke to Chris Groom and Chantelle Wyer about what joining Admiral Pet in Peterborough has meant for them.
Building something special in Peterborough
Our journey in the city began in 2024, when Admiral Pet launched with a small, close-knit team.
Since then, we’ve expanded rapidly, including bringing claims expertise in-house and creating a dedicated Pet Claims Centre of Excellence. What started as a handful of roles has become a thriving site with real momentum and long-term ambition.
The opening of our new office space is a clear signal of that commitment. Based at Peterborough’s Lynch Wood Park, the new floor has been purpose-designed to support collaboration, learning and future growth, giving our teams the environment they need to do their best work and enjoy being part of Admiral.
“I’ve never worked anywhere like Admiral” says Chantelle, “It’s a workplace that really cares about people. Somehow, we’ve managed to pick up the amazing culture we built in Cardiff and replicate it in Peterborough. It doesn’t feel like we’re a ‘satellite office’ - we’re just another part of the team.”
Chantelle has a passion for helping others succeed, which Admiral has helped her to nurture. “I love helping people” she explains “from helping children and their families in my days as a pre-school teacher, to helping customers in some of their most difficult times now. Plus, I also get to help empower my colleagues to do their best work.”
Chantelle’s drive to support people doesn’t end there - she’s also involved in arranging community impact days, supporting local charities such as Little Miracles in Peterborough.
“One of the best things about working at Admiral is that they take time to know who you are outside of work.” adds Chantelle “In the Peterborough office, we’ve got the ‘Pet Wall’, where we’ve all added photos of our beloved pets to celebrate them (including my two gorgeous blue staffies - Benji and Bruno). There aren’t many places you can bring your full self to work like that.”
