"An exciting opportunity for an aspiring finance professional has arisen within the Admiral Money finance team. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team with a start-up culture, assisting the finance function in operating smoothly whilst building accounting experience within a financial services business. You will report to the Management Accountant and be expected to prepare financial information for stakeholders around the business, create efficiencies in existing and new processes, and support the other areas of finance where required.

Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Supporting with the month end process ensuring timely and accurate accounts and producing key management information for stakeholders around the business
- Driving improvements in processes with a view to reduce the time taken to complete
- Developing a good understanding of the activities of the business and a strong working relationship with various stakeholders
- Owning and managing key control accounts, ensuring accurate and timely monthly reconciliations
- Supporting with the external audit process
- Supporting in producing and delivering regulatory and financial returns
Requirements
- Essential: Minimum of Part-qualified accountant with a recognised accounting body
- Self-motivator, proactive in all aspects of the role
- Experience within the financial services sector is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills
- Intermediate / advanced Excel skills are essential

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.

I joined Admiral in October 2020 as a Renewals Consultant. I dealt directly with Renewals queries and then moved into the Customer Value team, dealing with mid-term customers and upselling Multi Product. During my time in the Contact Centres, I helped with Volume Recruitment from time to time, and this prompted me to pursue a full-time role in recruitment, which I started in March 2022.
