About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious individual, who can think creatively to solve problems and meet change demand. You should have a keen interest in testing with hands on experience of designing and developing test automation frameworks.

As we work within the Scaled Agile framework, we are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced and changing environment. This requires an individual who can deliver to agreed timelines, communicating effectively, and thinking innovatively.

You will ensure quality standards are met and a delivery focussed approach is applied throughout whilst promoting continuous improvement within the team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to analyse user stories and identify opportunities where automation can add quality and speed to the testing process
  • Help to maintain and further develop existing test frameworks, adhering to coding standards
  • Participation in sprint ceremonies and championing a shift-left approach to testing for earlier feedback in the development lifecycle
  • Ability to record, report, analyse and manage defects found during testing and manage through to closure
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Must be passionate about testing and have a resilient attitude in pushing the test perspective within a SCRUM team; ability to raise issues within the team and beyond
  • Contribution to test strategies and working with others in continually improving the test process and standards within the team

 

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years proven software testing experience of web applications and services
  • At least 2 years-experience in Java – Selenium – TestNG – BDD - Cucumber
  • Use of Jenkins (or similar) to integrate testing into delivery pipelines
  • Proven knowledge and application of SQL
  • Knowledge of JIRA (bug tracking, user story management) and GIT (source control)
  • Any performance testing knowledge an added bonus (and use of J-meter)

 

Qualifications (minimum)

  • HND in Computer Science / or proven experience within IT
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate
