We are currently hiring for a SME Underwriter to join the recently launched, Admiral Business!

The Role 

As an SME Underwriter for the Admiral Business Proposition, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of our digital, flexible, and innovative business offering.

Your responsibilities will include making underwriting decisions, interpreting guidelines, accepting or declining risks at both policy and portfolio levels, and applying terms as necessary.

You will provide technical assistance on underwriting matters, ensuring compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements to deliver a customer-centric proposition.

Key Responsibilites 

• Underwriting Decisions: Make informed underwriting decisions based on a thorough interpretation of underwriting guidelines.
• Risk Management: Accept or decline risks at both policy and portfolio levels, applying appropriate terms and conditions.
• Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance on underwriting matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and ongoing development of policy wordings and documents.
• Compliance: Engage with the Governance Team to ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
• SME Package Insurance: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of SME Package insurance to enhance underwriting processes.
• Documentation Production: Play a role in the production of policy wordings and other relevant documentation.
• Rule and Guideline Monitoring: Assist in developing, administering, and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines.
• Statistical Analysis: Contribute to the compilation and analysis of statistics for continuous improvement.
• Adaptability: Demonstrate the ability to think differently in a high-energy, challenging, and Agile environment.
• Cultural Contribution: Support and embody Admiral Pioneer's culture by maintaining a 'can-do' approach.

Key Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• Knowledge: A good understanding of SME Package insurance.
• Experience: Previous involvement in wording and documentation production within an underwriting role.
• Problem Solving: Ability to resolve technical queries by referring to policies, procedures, and specifications.
• Rule Development: Experience in developing, administering, and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines.
• Analytical Skills: Capable of compiling and analyzing statistics for informed decision-making.
• Adaptability: Comfortable thinking differently and thriving in a high-energy, challenging, and Agile environment.
• Cultural Fit: Demonstrate a 'can-do' approach to align with Admiral Pioneer's culture.
