The Role 

As a Senior Software Engineer at Admiral Money, your role will be to contribute to the varied development tasks undertaken by our technical product teams and champion technical excellence. You will also be expected to develop a deep understanding of our products and their technical implementation. 

Responsibilities  

This is an exciting and evolving role at the intersection of software engineering and AI innovation. While day-to-day tasks will vary, we expect the successful candidate to:

• Build clean, idiomatic, and maintainable code aligned with business and AI-driven requirements
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI-powered solutions, including agentic workflows and proof-of-concept applications
• Contribute to technical excellence through peer reviews, experimentation, and the development of best practices
• Maintain a suitable level of documentation, especially around AI models, decision flows, and system architecture
• Actively participate in Scrum events and team activities
• Drive continuous improvement across software, AI capabilities, team practices, and business outcomes
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and other stakeholders to explore and validate emerging AI technologies
• Support the growth of the discipline through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing

Required Skills/Experience 

We’re looking for candidates who bring a strong foundation in software engineering, along with curiosity and hands-on experience in AI innovation:

• Significant experience in software engineering with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Golang, Java, Python, or typescript)
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and ability to integrate AI-driven solutions into applications
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tooling
• Ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum teams and adapt to evolving technologies
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, secure software development practices, and responsible AI principles 

Desirable Skills/Experience 

Although not essential, we would be excited to speak to candidates who also have: 

• Exposure to MLOps practices for deploying and monitoring AI models in production
• Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first design
• Database experience (SQL and NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience (Terraform or similar)
• Experience with front-end and back-end frameworks (e.g., React, Express.js, or equivalents)
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
