Personal Injury Paralegal

As a handler in our Claimant Personal Injury department you will be representing our clients who have been injured as a result of a road traffic accident to bring a claim against the Defendant for damages using court proceedings as and when required.  The successful candidate will deal with a caseload of claims in which the other driver is disputing liability in full or in part for the accident from the commencement of the claim, up to and sometimes including trial.  This can be a difficult time for our clients and therefore you will be there from the start of their claim, reassuring and empathising with them.

Aside from investigating the accident circumstances, you may be responsible for the investigation of our client’s claim for Personal Injury. Your role will involve obtaining medical evidence in support of your client’s claim, valuing the injuries sustained and gathering all of the required evidence in respect of their losses.

With your own liability or quantum caseload, you’ll advise your clients on the best course of action. In this fast-paced role, you’ll effectively manage and progress your own caseload using our in-house case management system (and in line with our key client measures), keeping clients informed of progress every step of the way.

Main Responsibilities and Requirements

• Drafting Court Documents
• Advising clients in respect of liability and quantum

Requirements

• Experience of handling claims of this nature is helpful but not essential
• A genuine interest in law and be willing to new skills and approaches to tasks.
• Numeracy, Literacy and IT skills are vital, and you will need to be a great communicator.
• You will need to be able to manage your time effectively, ensuring adherence with service legal agreements and deadlines.
• Be able to prioritise your work in what can be a busy environment.
• Problem solving and the ability to weigh up various approaches and then action the appropriate solution.
• Eagerness to “get stuck in”, whilst you maintain strong attention to detail.
• Enthusiastic about delivering great service.
• Desire to perform to the best of your abilities.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
