"This is an opportunity for someone with existing IT asset management experience to join a relatively new team within the IT department and help shape it.
Main Purpose of the role
You will closely with all IT teams to set up best practices within the asset life cycle, for both Software and Hardware assets. You will be responsible for ensuring all assets have a clear and defined life cycle that works within our organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring that asset management processes are clearly developed, defined and adopted to allow the organisation to mitigate and manage risks appropriately whilst ensuring we manage our compliance obligations. You will also be managing both in-house and external solutions.

- You have licensing knowledge (Microsoft/oracle)
- You have Worked in an IT environment/ understand technical language
- You are familiar with Hardware asset management
- You are familiar with Software asset management
- You understand the relationships and interactions between Asset Management and Configuration Management
- You have an understanding of where Asset Management fits into the wider Service Management Practise
- You have a good understanding of ITIL principles
- You have experience of managing and developing a team

The ideal candidate will have
- Vast experience, with a preference to IT Asset Management (Software or Hardware)
- Familiarity with IT Asset Management discipline, both Software & Hardware
- Experience of working with an inventory and software installation and discovery tool such as Landesk
- Experience of working within a busy IT department
- Team Management experience
- Experience of dealing with Large Account Resellers
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Strong Organisational and communicative skills
The ideal candidate could also have
- Experience in Configuration Management
- ITIL Foundation
- Experience in managing Microsoft Enterprise Contracts and Microsoft Volume License Management portal
- Experience in managing licensing for key strategic vendors such as Oracle
