About the job
We’re on the lookout for a confident, strategic communicator to lead internal comms for our Motor function. It’s a big job—but a brilliant one. You’ll be shaping and delivering communications that help our people feel informed, connected, and part of something bigger.
Motor is our largest and most varied audience—around 4,000 colleagues across Motor Claims, Motor Product, and Pricing. That’s a lot of stories to tell, and you’ll be right at the heart of it.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders to bring those stories to life, both within Motor and across the wider business. And you won’t be doing it alone—you’ll lead a small but mighty team of 3–4 talented communicators, helping them grow, thrive, and do their best work. You’ll also get to work with tools like SharePoint, Viva Engage, and Poppulo to deliver engaging, measurable content.
You don’t need to know insurance inside out—but you do need to know comms. If you’re a natural storyteller, a strategic thinker, and someone who genuinely enjoys managing people, this could be your perfect next step.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of internal communications professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to help them succeed.
- Partner with senior leaders in Motor to shape and deliver a compelling narrative that supports the function’s strategy and connects with colleagues across the business.
- Develop and deliver creative, engaging communications plans that align with our UK and Group-wide strategies.
- Own the communications strategy for Motor, ensuring messaging is consistent, impactful, and aligned with our tone of voice and brand.
- Manage key channels—from face-to-face events and virtual townhalls to digital platforms—ensuring content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
- Champion the colleague voice, using feedback and insight to shape communications and improve the colleague experience.
- Measure impact of communications activity, using data and feedback to continuously improve.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing expert guidance on communications best practice and helping them engage their teams effectively.
- Contribute to the wider Internal Communications team, sharing ideas, collaborating on cross-functional projects, and supporting our team culture.
Key Skills Required
- Proven experience in a senior internal communications role, ideally in a large, complex organisation.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing at all levels.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into clear, engaging communications.
- Experience managing multiple channels and delivering high-impact campaigns.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at pace, manage competing priorities, and stay calm under pressure.
- Experience with crisis communications and navigating sensitive issues.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for people and communication.
Please note - we may close this vacancy early if we receive lots of applications or business priorities change.

Talent Partner - Corporate Services
What areas do you look after?
I currently work as a Talent Partner for Admiral with a specific focus on the Marketing, Product & Online areas of our Corporate Services team.
Tell us about you and your Admiral story?
Initially I spent 2 years at Admiral in the contact centre where I gained an appreciation of how Admiral handles insurance quotations and the processes connected with that. My desired career path has always been recruitment and marketing so I have recently ( May 2023) rejoined Admiral as a Talent Partner after gaining experience in a recruitment agency and as an in-house recruiter. Marketing has always been my Business sector and I believe I have become a subject expert in it. I simply love all things marketing!
