"We’re looking for a technically sharp, curious, and self-driven Cyber Security Analyst to join our small but dynamic cyber team here at Admiral Money. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who’s eager to learn, get involved, and make a real impact.
About Admiral Money
Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
Launching unsecured personal loans in June 2017, we have gone from strength to strength with two other product lines launched in more recent years – motor finance & second charge mortgages.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
Role Overview
As a cyber generalist, you'll work across a wide range of cyber operations activities, from monitoring alerts and responding to incidents, to supporting projects that improve our security posture. You’ll be comfortable getting stuck into a variety of tasks - whether that’s responding to Cyber incidents, performing vulnerability assessments, assisting with the automation of processes, or helping roll out new tools and technologies.
There’s plenty of day-to-day Cyber Ops work, but also opportunity to contribute to exciting initiatives that shape how we do cyber security within Admiral Money. If you're the kind of person who enjoys solving problems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about technology, then the Admiral Money Cyber team may be just the place for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security tools and systems (e.g., SIEM, EDR) to detect and respond to threats (rotated on-call will be required out of hours).
- Investigate security alerts, determine root cause, and support incident response activities.
- Assist with vulnerability management activities and coordinate remediation with other business teams.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Perform audits and reviews of systems, applications, and user activities.
- Help develop our Cyber awareness and education programme alongside other members of the Cyber team.
- Maintain and improve documentation for incident response, security configurations, and system baselines.
- Assist in our governance, risk and compliance activities.
Core Requirements
- Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in an information security or technology function.
- Strong technical foundation across IT systems and networks, with a solid grasp of security principles and how they apply in real-world environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and define and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbally.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of specific cyber technologies (for example SIEM tools, EDR tools etc).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
- Experience with Python or similar languages.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, or CIS Controls.
- Familiarity with risk management concepts.
- Familiarity with GenAI technologies -Specifically LLM based prompt engineering.
