"Job Purpose
We’re looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to join Admiral Financial Services Limited (AFSL) in our Credit Risk team, where you’ll be supporting the continued expansion of the business. We are flexible in start-dates and happy to consider those due to graduate this summer.
The role involves providing in-depth analysis and reporting on AFSL’s range of products and partners to provide actionable analysis and to help drive forward our decision-making and data capabilities at an exciting time of growth in AFSL.
The successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills and the enthusiasm to quickly fit into a fast-moving, innovative, and high-profile working environment. No prior working experience is necessary, although a familiarity with financial services or risk/finance analytical techniques would be a distinct advantage. The role will initially cover all aspects of credit risk, with the ability to specialise in particular areas as the business grows and develops.
Main Responsibilities
- Use a range of tools, including SAS, SQL and Excel, to report and monitor all aspects of our credit performance, across a range of channels and products
- Design, develop and utilise effective analysis and management information, identifying potential changes and identifying areas to further investigate and enhance
- Assess new data sources, tools and techniques to ensure the quality of credit decisions are maintained in a fast-changing external environment
- Ensure all documentation and procedures are kept up to date
- Monitor, maintain and enhance all aspects of credit risk decisions, ensuring our decisions are working correctly and identifying areas to expand
- Provide a wide range of analytical work to meet the Credit Risk team’s goals and support ad-hoc projects within the team and across the wider business
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential
- A 2:1 or higher in a numerical degree
- Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint to produce clear documents and analysis, presenting complex information in an effective manner
- Strong planning/organisational skills with the ability to manage your workload, by prioritising different workstreams and supporting wider projects as required
- Good written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others
- Team player willing to get involved in team activities
- Enthusiasm and “can-do” attitude
Desirable
- An academic or practical background in financial services and/or risk/financial analysis techniques is a distinct advantage, although not essential
- Experience in extracting, manipulating and analysing data using SAS/SQL (or similar data tools such as R) we can offer on the job training, so this is not essential
- Previous experience of working in a collaborative environment

I joined Admiral in February 2012 as a Sales Executive and quickly grew fond of Admiral and its culture. It was clear there were many opportunities and different career paths.
