When my husband and I decided we wanted to explore fostering, we were excited, but also a little unsure about what it would mean for our working lives.
Becoming foster carers is a huge life decision, and naturally we wondered what support would be available from our employers as we went through the process.
I was genuinely so pleased to discover that Admiral has a foster care policy and offers fostering leave. About a year later, our family journey changed again when we decided to adopt the child we had fostered. My return to work became more complex, as I needed to move to part-time hours and a rolling working pattern.
Once again, Admiral was outstanding in its understanding and support. That flexibility made such a big difference during a time of huge personal change, and it helped me find a working pattern that supported both my role and my family life.
