Senior Digital Designer - UX & UI

Admiral Financial Services Ltd (AFSL) is looking for a passionate Senior Digital Designer (UX & UI) to join the growing team.

At AFSL, we’re focused on building a special lending business for our customers. We launched in June 2017 and since then we’ve been busy striving for the best. We are a new area of Admiral Group Plc, offering Loans and Car Finance - who knows what’s next! We have the freedom and innovation of a small start-up, with the security of a large parent company behind us.

You would be responsible for helping improve and build user-centric customer experiences across digital services, websites, and applications. You would collaborate closely with other designers, product owners, developers, marketing, and data analysts, to define (UX), design (UI), and refine our digital products.

Main Responsibilities

• Translate ideas and insights to innovative design concepts, using techniques such as sketching, mood boarding, wireframing, and prototyping to bring ideas to life
• Improve existing products and services using insights and intuition
• Help to plan and run usability testing sessions remotely
• Work with the development and QA teams to ensure the product is understood and built to spec
• Help maintain and create design documentation and standards
• Work with designers to upkeep and contribute to the design system and front end guidelines
• Create design briefs and gather assets

About You

Essential:

• A degree or qualification in design or a design related degree / 4+ years of UX & UI experience
• Your work will show us that you have an appreciation and understanding of the entire end-to-end design process, from research and ideation, to problem-solving through to detailed UX and visual design for users/customers across multiple devices/viewports
• Proficient in Figma, XD or Sketch & Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Excellent creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience working effectively with stakeholders and developers
• Good knowledge of usability and best practices
• The ability to present and deliver workshops
• A good understanding of current design trends, or a strong interest in this area
• Knowledge of utilising user research and testing methods to elicit actionable data

Desirable:

• An understanding of HTML & CSS
• Experience or an interest in working in an environment with a test and learn mindset, focused on continuous improvement
• Knowledge of design systems & how to maintain them
• Efficient in Axure prototyping
• An understanding of MVT/A/B testing
• Experience working in an agile workplace
