The CTO strategic innovation function (SIFU)  operates within the CTO team taking primary responsibility for supporting and driving innovation initiatives mainly technology driven. The function creates a fast paced environment to foster new technology based ideas with a long terms view that could transform our business

Whilst the function registers initiatives, it also provides support for exploration, experimentation and eventually classifies initiatives. The coordinator’s role is to ensure initiative sponsors and matrix teams are progressing, supported and eventually can classify their idea in view for later PoC or PoV.

Main Duties:

  • Keep abreast of all initiatives and their progress as per the SIFU process.
  • Work with the innovation enterprise architect to schedule progress meetings with initiative teams.
  • Update the SIFU website with progress and ETAs.
  • Control and maintain accesses to SIFU playground Azure platform.
  • Manage ServiceNow requests for tools and technology required by initiative matrix teams.
  • Arrange engagement process and embed security and infosec teams.
  • Support onboarding of initiative matrix teams including external contractors.

This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.

Essential:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organise matrix teams and small projects.
  • Good presentation development skills using tools such as PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel Being proactive, anticipating initiative for improvement or development of the innovation process.
  • Relationship management across initiative sponsors.

Desirable:

  • A technology mindset and appetite to learn about new technologies and technical trends in the financial sector.
  • Previous experience of managing small technology based projects.
  • Experience in the financial industry sector.
